Fort Caroline - the perfect family portrait location in Jacksonville Florida
An amazing Thanksgiving has come and gone. Every year I think, "I can't wait to eat my way into and out of a food coma" and every year, I put my thoughts to action. Being surrounded by loved ones and good ol' fashion cooking really puts me in the mood to photograph and luckily Daniella and her daughter were eager to be photographed as well! Like many of you, Daniella has had family portraits taken of her and her daughter each year and luckily for me, I was able to add to this tradition. She showed me photos from the past, all so different, all so perfect. I knew right away we needed to go somewhere outside the box because I wanted this year to be the best pictures yet! After mentioning Ft. Caroline to Daniella and showing her some images from that location, she was all smiles! The fort was nearly empty when we arrived which made for the perfect location. As we worked our way around the different areas of Ft. Caroline, I couldn't help but take in the history, the beautiful weather, the perfect lighting, and of course, the priceless moments that were being had between a mother and her whole world, her daughter. These two came so prepared for this photo session, as though they had a degree! Daniella worked her motherly magic and created a wardrobe that was always changing and adding new life to the photos. Maybe this wardrobe magic came about because she is a mother, or maybe it because Daniella has her own clothing line, Grata Designs.
